- Strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 24-30 amaretti cookies
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Coffee liqueur (optional)
- Cocoa powder, for dusting
- Dark chocolate shavings (optional)
Instructions:
- Combine coffee and coffee liqueur.
- Whip egg yolks and sugar until pale.
- Fold in mascarpone.
- Whip cream until stiff peaks form.
- Fold cream into mascarpone mixture.
- Dip amaretti cookies in coffee mixture.
- Layer dipped cookies and mascarpone mixture.
- Repeat layers.
- Chill for at least 4 hours.
- Dust with cocoa powder, garnish with chocolate, and serve chilled.
